CBHNP is a full-service behavioral health managed care company that supports almost 4 million Members through specialized behavioral health and human service programs in the public and private sector:

CBHNP was founded by service providers in 1994 and is a subsidiary of AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies. AmeriHealth Mercy and its affiliates comprise the largest family of Medicaid managed care plans in the United States. AmeriHealth Mercy is a mission-driven organization, dedicated to ensuring the delivery of quality health care to low-income populations covered by publicly-funded programs throughout the United States. With more than 20 years of experience exclusively serving the Medicaid population, the AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies touches the lives of over 6 million Members nationwide.

Partnership Approach
 
CBHNP was created and exists today because of strong and lasting partnerships. Founded by the partnership of mental health and addiction providers of the Pennsylvania Community Providers Association in response to Pennsylvania’s move toward mandatory managed care, we have a deep understanding of the needs of our main stakeholders – Members and providers. This foundation gives us the unique perspective and expertise that is necessary to develop lasting partnerships with our customers. Many of our customers have been with CBHNP for years and continue to partner with us as their business grows and as program expansion occurs.

Since the beginning, CBHNP has remained true to its mission – to provide the best behavioral health solutions to our Members, their families, and our communities. To accomplish our mission we manage behavioral health program costs effectively and efficiently while protecting the values and mission of our stakeholders in order to maximize dollars for direct care. Embracing Quality
 
As a corporation, CBHNP has always embraced the principles of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI). Every department is committed to CQI by assuring, controlling, and improving the quality of all services based on quality improvement activities, principles, and findings. Our Quality Improvement Program and our Quality Improvement Committee ensures and monitors the progress of CQI across all operational activities.
 
These efforts were rewarded in November 2006 when we were awarded full accreditation from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for our Medicaid line of business. NCQA is approved by the Department of Health as a certified utilization review entity and “full” accreditation is the highest ranking that is offered to Medicaid product lines and covers a three year period.
